Blackpool and The Fylde College is a leading further and higher education provider on the Fylde Coast, delivering industry-focused training, apprenticeships and degree programmes. Working closely with employers, the college helps develop the skills needed across key sectors, including tourism and hospitality, through industry- standard facilities, work placements and employer-led learning.

B&FC has strong links with local, regional and international employers, supporting the tourism and hospitality sector through work placements, employer-led programmes and partnerships. Students gain experience with organisations including Premier Inn and Expedia UK, while the college also supports industry events such as the Lancashire Tourism Awards. These collaborations help develop real-world skills and strengthen the visitor economy.

Through the ‘Visit’ offer, we highlight attractions such as Pendle Hill, cultural trails and local events, supporting tourism businesses and encouraging visitors to explore, stay longer and engage with the area’s unique identity and welcoming communities.
Working with industry partners
Tourism projects in Pendle have focused on enhancing visitor experience through initiatives such as the development of the Pendle Sculpture Trail and promotion of our green spaces, including Pendle Hill.
Building on this progress, we are now developing a new plan for Year 3 of our Economic Growth Strategy to further grow, connect, and celebrate Pendle’s unique offer locally regionally.
