NEW DISTRIBUTION CENTRE DRIVEN BY RISING DEMAND


Family-run manufacturer Melba Swintex is set to open a new distribution centre in Rossendale following a multi-million- pound investment.


The company, which manufactures temporary traffic management products, will open the 57,742 sq ft facility later this summer.


Founded in 1982, Melba Swintex is a third-generation family business with deep manufacturing roots in Lancashire. The company


was formed through the merger of Melba and Swintex in 2007 and has grown into one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of temporary traffic management products and a global exporter.


The new distribution centre is designed to support rising demand, improve operational efficiency and provide capacity for future expansion. The project was first outlined as part of the company’s growth plans in 2024.


Managing director Gregg Dawson said: “This

Melba Swintex employs around 230 people in Lancashire and manufactures more than 90 per cent of its products from recycled materials.


The investment will increase inventory capacity by more than fivefold and provide around 50 per cent additional operational capacity, allowing the business to expand while improving service for customers in the UK and overseas.
