APPRENTICES ARE POWERING INDUSTRY FORWARD IN 2024
Apprentices are the lifeblood of business; that’s the belief of Themis, the apprenticeship training arm of Burnley College, the number one college in the country.
We work with employers to create a highly- skilled and motivated workforce of tomorrow, from your traditional construction trades and engineering through to high-tech security and IT systems, including chartered manager degree apprenticeships.
Themis apprentices are a direct conduit to the very latest techniques and knowledge which are driving your sector forward, trained by expert tutors and trainers, passionate about ensuring they gain the skills which benefit your business best.
We achieve this by working closely with employers – large and small – to tailor training to match the needs of industry, now and in future.
And with access to the cutting-edge industry-leading facilities at Burnley College, they’re learning with the very best on the very best equipment.

SKILLS CHAMPION NOMINATED FOR
TOP AWARD It’s been an incredible year for Themis’s director for skills and innovation.
Neil Burrows has recently been announced as finalist in the Skills Champion category in the prestigious Apprenticeship Awards.
While we’re used to seeing Neil give 100 per cent within the four walls of this college, this recognises his extensive work across all of east Lancashire.
Engaging with employers to create bespoke partnerships like the Engineering Advisory Board and Sustainability Advisory Board, travelling to the USA to support apprentices in WorldSkills to helping raise £56,000 for Pendleside Hospice – Neil is never off duty.
We wish him all the success.
