"I chose to study at Petroc mainly due to the course and facilities available. I particularly liked the sound of this course due to the content and large focus on the theory content (as well as practical). It was also partly due to the very modern facilities on offer (new kitchens etc.) and being able to work hands-on in the Taw Restaurant.
Although I want to work in the food industry (bakery), I particularly enjoyed the food theory and management lessons. Last year, I was chosen to go onto work experience abroad, in Gothenburg, Sweden which was a really special opportunity and one that I was very pleased to have taken part in.
I currently have a conditional offer to study Bakery Science and Technology at London Southbank University which is something I am really excited to begin. After uni, I plan on remaining in London and gaining further experience working in bakeries and patisseries, before one day having my own business.
Before you join this course, ensure that you have a strong interest in food. The course is extremely rewarding if you’re passionate about the subject, due to the content and opportunities on offer."
