Petroc Prospectus | SUPPORTING YOU & YOUR LEARNING Equality and Diversity
Petroc is an open and inclusive college and prides itself on its zero tolerance towards discrimination of any kind. As a student of Petroc, you will have the opportunity to further explore and celebrate equality and diversity through your study programme and enrichment activities.
Financial Support
Education is free for all students who are aged 16-18 (on 31 August of the year you start your course), however, there may be additional costs for books or travel.
Don’t let money matters stop you coming to college; if you need financial help to cover the costs of studying, we may be able to help you via the Bursary Fund. You can speak to our friendly Advice & Guidance Team for more information. You could also be eligible to apply for a free bus pass. Visit

Safeguarding and Prevent
We take the safeguarding of everyone at college extremely seriously and our team is here to ensure the health and safety of all our students. We are also proactive in instilling the fundamental British values of democracy, individual liberty, the rule of law, and respect and tolerance.
Sustainability
Petroc is passionate about sustainability and actively encourages all staff and students to join us to help protect the environment and preserve resources.
In 2019, Petroc signed up to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals which recognises the need for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. We have also been awarded the Planet Mark certification which requires us to measure and reduce our annual carbon emissions. We are also weaving elements of sustainability into our curriculum through our STEM projects.
Wellbeing
Petroc is passionate about the physical, mental and sexual health of our students. We have an experienced team who can offer help with your wellbeing throughout your time at college, and offer guidance on managing stress, practising mindfulness and understanding the importance of sexual health.
