WHAT DID OUR LEARNERS SAY?
PHOEBE, ARCHITECTURE, SURVEYING & THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT, LEVEL 3
"I chose this course at Petroc because I love drawing and design and wanted to learn how to use more CAD (Computer Aided Design) in my designing. I’m also interested in construction and the built environment and wanted to learn more about how it's incorporated into design.
My favourite part of the course is seeing the design projects come to life using manual drafting or CAD after spending ages perfecting and modifying the concepts to get it to a working building. My highlights of the course have been going on local site visits which help put the theory work into perspective and working on difficult design projects that require lots of research and innovation to find solutions.
I’ve enjoyed studying at Petroc because the course, and help from my lecturers, has helped provide me with a career path that I’m passionate and excited about. I’m going on to do an Architecture BA (Hons) at Falmouth University and my long-term plan is to hopefully become an architect and run my own practice.
My advice for someone thinking of taking this course is that, although the work is hard and is very demanding, it’s very rewarding and provides lots of different career pathways for the future."
