Building on your existing mathematical skills gained in GCSE, you will develop your knowledge of Pure Mathematics using both computer software and scientific calculators to aid learning. To broaden your mathematical experience, you will also study some Applied Mathematics in the form of statistics and mechanics. It is essential that you achieve a minimum of grade 6 in Maths at GCSE.

FURTHER MATHEMATICS FTB027

Develop your aptitude for Mathematics by delving deeper into the subject and exploring your mathematic abilities. A-level Further Mathematics is a valuable, well-recognised qualification for future life. You will study A-level Maths in year one and A-level Further Maths in year two. You will be required to achieve at least a grade 7 in Maths at GCSE.

PHYSICS FTB035 FTT234

Gain a deeper understanding of atoms, the nucleus and particle physics. You will need to achieve a grade 6 in Physics or grade 6 in both Core Science and Additional Science and achieve a grade 6 in Maths.

SPORT FTB197

Specialist career-related BTEC qualifications which combine practical learning with subject and theory content. Designed for students who wish to study sport alongside other A-level subjects, usually in order to gain UCAS points towards progression to university, you'll examine sport science in relation to the human body, fitness and exercise. You will be required to participate in sports performance and leadership sessions therefore you will need to have an enthusiasm for sport, both theoretically and practically. GCSE PE is an advantage but not essential. A good understanding of Biology will also be an advantage, and we recommend you have a grade 4/5 or above in a related science subject. You will be required to achieve a minimum grade 4 in English and Maths, as well as at least three other GCSEs at grade 4. Regular participation in sport is required and you will be expected to develop your skills either in one of our sports academies or outside of the college environment.
