Joining enrichment programmes is a great way to meet like-minded people, develop your skills and CV, and make the most of everything college life has to offer.

PETROC EXCELLENCE PROGRAMME

Our professional Academies give you the opportunity to develop your skills, explore your passions and prepare for a wide range of highly skilled careers and university courses.

999 ACADEMY

This exciting programme focuses on the work of the blue light services and inspires students to create safer communities by engaging in social action projects, understanding the work of the emergency services, and learning life and lifesaving skills. The 999 Academy is open to all students.

HEALTH & CARE ACADEMY

Learners who participate in the Health & Care Academy gain a genuine insight into frontline healthcare work. By shadowing and supporting professionals at North Devon District Hospital, you will have the opportunity to interact with patients and staff in a variety of settings - ranging from theatres to podiatry - enabling you to gain experience across the breadth of primary healthcare provision. This fantastic opportunity is available to learners studying Level 3 Health and Social Care.

VOCATIONAL ACADEMY

The Vocational Academy helps Technical and Vocational learners to develop employability and entrepreneurial skills by providing opportunities to extend confidence, knowledge and skills in the sectors you are passionate about. You will also explore progression opportunities and, using our network of exceptional local employers, will undertake extended work placements to gain a better insight into your future career. Learners in the Vocational Academy need to have achieved grade 5 in English and Maths and at least three other grade 7s in their GCSEs.
