TECHNICAL ASBEST SERVICES B.V. Dienstenpakket helpt de klant van A tot Z
Asbest is in tal van producten toegepast. Zijn goede eigenschappen als hitte-, zuur- en loogbestendigheid waren veelal een uitkomst in de vele omgevingen waarin het materiaal werd gebruikt. Pakkingen en isolatiemateriaal zijn twee voorbeelden van toepassingen die iedereen wel kent maar ook in warmtebrug- gen, isolatoren en afstandhouders vinden we de toepassing van asbest. Vanaf juli 1993 is in Nederland een algeheel verbod op het gebruik, verhandelen en op voorraad hebben van asbest. TAS B.V. is gespecialiseerd in het uitvoeren van asbestinventarisaties en is in staat voor elk asbestprobleem een pragma- tische oplossing te bieden. TAS B.V. kan de inventarisaties voor de maritieme sector zowel tijdens docking periodes als tijdens de vaart voor haar klanten uitvoeren.
Breed dienstenpakket TAS B.V. biedt verschillende diensten om klanten te helpen met hun asbestprobleem. Zo wordt inventarisatie en onderzoek uitgevoerd om tot een inventarisatierapport te komen. Ver- volgens kan een plan van aanpak worden op- gesteld ten behoeve van de sanering . Ook kan een uitgebreid beheersplan worden gemaakt. Op het gebied van management ondersteunt TAS B.V. graag haar klanten in advisering, se- cond opinion en bijvoorbeeld directievoering. Ook voor aanbesteding, calamiteiten, trillings- metingen en voorlichting ondersteunt TAS B.V. haar opdrachtgevers.
Participering TAS B.V. is lid van de Technische werkgroep SC-540. In deze werkgroep wordt door TAS, samen met de overige leden, een actieve bijdra- ge geleverd in de oplossingen voor praktische problemen in de SC-540. Technisch directeur, de heer Veenema, is namens VOAM-VKBA verte- genwoordiger in de werkkamer Ascert persoon overleg. TAS B.V. vindt het belangrijk met deze bijdragen actief bezig te zijn met oplossingen.
Maritiem Naast activiteiten in de industrie, woning- en utiliteitsbouw is TAS B.V. een belangrijke speler in de maritieme sector. TAS B.V. is gespeciali- seerd in het uitvoeren van Inventory Hazardous Materials kortweg IHM zoals bijvoorbeeld asbest, PCB’s en ODS, aan boord van schepen. Een IHM voor schepen van >500 gt is een verplichting,
iets wat niet iedereen weet maar waar wel degelijk rekening mee moet worden gehouden. De gedachte achter IHM is het in kaart bren- gen en beheersen van de gevaarlijke stoffen aan boord van een schip om zodoende risico’s voor de gezondheid van de medewerkers en het milieu te minimaliseren. De onderzoekers van TAS B.V. zijn in het bezit van het approved HazMat Expert certificaat, verleend door DNV GL. TAS B.V. kan uw schip of scheepsvloot dan ook overal ter wereld op de aanwezigheid van Hazardous materials onderzoeken. Regelmatig komt TAS B.V. ook bij schepen die asbestvrij zijn gebouwd nog asbesthoudende producten tegen zoals bijvoorbeeld pakking en koord, met name in de voorraad. Deze worden ten behoeve van onderhoud aan boord gehaald in landen die nog steeds asbesthoudende toepassingen verkopen. Het aanscherpen van de procedures omtrent de aankoop van nieuwe materialen kan hier een oplossing in bieden. TAS B.V. staat voor duidelijke heldere rapportages en adviezen in het Engels. In the past, asbestos has been applied in numerous products. Its properties, inclu- ding heat, acid and lye resistance, used to provide solutions in many environments where the material was used. Packings and insulation material were two well-known examples. Other applications of asbestos used to include thermal bridges, insulators, and spacer blocks. Since July 1993, there has been a general prohibition on the use, trade and stocking of asbestos in the Nether- lands. TAS BV is specialised in the making of asbestos inventories and is able to present a practical solution to any asbestos problem. For the maritime sector, TAS BV will carry out inventories for its customers, either during docking periods or while at sea.
Wide range of services TAS BV offers different services to help customers solve their asbestos problems. For example, inventories and studies are carried out in order to arrive at an inventory report. Next, a plan of approach is drawn up for clea- ring purposes. Also, an extensive management plan can be drawn up. TAS BV will be happy to support its customers in the areas of giving advice, a second opinion, or management in general. Other areas in which TAS BV may be of assistance to its customers include tendering, calamities, vibration measurements, and information provision.
Participation TAS BV is a member of the technical work- group SC-540. Together with the other mem- bers in this workgroup, TAS will provide active contributions to practical problems in the SC-540. On behalf of VOAM-VKBA, technical director Veenema will personally supervise negotiations in the workroom Ascert. With these contributions, TAS BV intends to actively contribute to the finding of solutions.
Maritime In addition to activities in industry and con- struction - houses and utilities - TAS BV is an important player in the maritime sector. TAS BV is specialised in performing Inventories of Hazardous Materials, IHM, targeting asbestos, PCBs, and ODS on board ships. An IHM for ships over 500 gt is obliged. Not everybody is aware of this fact, but it should be taken into account at all times. The thought behind IHM is to list and manage hazardous substances on board the ship, in order to minimise the risks to crew and the environment. The surveyors of TAS BV have the approved HazMat Expert Certificate, granted by DNV GL. As a result, TAS BV is able to analyse your ship or fleet regarding the presence of hazardous materi- als. Anywhere in the world. Quite frequently, TAS BV will find products containing asbestos, such as packings and rope, for example in the hold. Even on ships that have been built without the application of asbestos. Such stocks originate from countries still allowing the sale of applications containing asbestos, for example for maintenance purposes. Stricter procedures regarding the purchase of new materials may provide a solution in such cases. TAS BV stands for clear reports and recommendations in the English language.
