Tis has remained virtually stable in the three years that we’ve conducted this study; however, aggregate attraction visitation is predicted to grow by only 1.4% this year. Actual 2017 growth came in at 1.6% (while we predicted 1.5%), both of which are far below 2016’s 2.6% aggregate growth (3% predicted). Of what growth there is, it continues to be driven by Millennials.

Te majority of attractions are projecting growth in visitation for 2018, although generally at a significantly slower rate than the previous two years of our study. Tose attractions expected to see the most growth include Water Parks (+2.4%), Aquariums (+2.0%), and Science Centers (+1.9%). Conversely, Museums are slated to see the largest decline at -3.7%, followed by Historic Landmarks (-2.1%), Art Galleries (-1.5%), and Teaters (-0.4%). Teme Parks (+0.4%), Family Entertainment Centers (FECs) (+0.5%), and Zoos and Animal Attractions (+0.6%) will see some of the softest growth in the coming year.
