Travelers are gearing back up for these trips this year, with 21% intending to “visit far more attractions” than last year, up five points from 2017 and back to 2016 predictions. Besides the specific attractions previously mentioned, travelers have their sights most set on Orlando (37%), Te Big Apple (36%), and Sin City (32%) this year, the same top cities above a 30% intent-rate as last year. But it’s not just about Purple Mountains and Amber Waves of Grain on this year’s calendar. According to our respondents, six in ten US attraction visitors reported having a valid passport, ten points higher than the average American, and one in five attraction visitors plan to get a passport in the next six months.
Where do they plan to go with these new blue books?
Unsurprisingly, right next door, with 43% booking trips to Canada and 36% heading south of the border to Mexico. Te United Kingdom (31%) and Italy (28%) followed closely, with Mexico being especially attractive to families.
