Oxygen Jungle Villas & Spa UVITA DE OSA, PUNTARENAS, COSTA RICA

UNFORGETTABLE RAINFOREST ADVENTURES AND REJUVENATING SPA EXPERIENCES AWAIT TRAVELLERS AT OXYGEN JUNGLE VILLAS — A SECRET OASIS IN COSTA RICA

Tucked away in the Uvita rainforest, Oxygen Jungle Villas is an intimate boutique hotel with expansive views over the Pacific Ocean. Stretching from Dominical to Uvita, Costa

Ballena encompasses a vast stretch of a gorgeously rugged shoreline and several incredible beaches. This southern Pacific region of Costa Rica features unspoiled beauty and natural charm, which give a unique character to the region.

Immersed in nature Created to preserve the fragile marine ecosystem and natural habitats of the marine species, the Ballena Marine National Park is the major attraction in the area, covering around 270 acres of coastline and 13,600 acres of ocean. Travellers also go to immerse themselves in some of the most popular national parks in Costa Rica, such as Corcovado National Park, Manuel Antonio National Park and the famous Caño Island (considered to be one of the most beautiful snorkelling and diving spots in the world).

108 Visiting the national parks around Oxygen

Jungle Villas is a must-do. A trip to Caño Island is always magical — observe whales, dolphins, sea turtles and marine birds; snorkel the crystal-clear waters and appreciate the coral reefs; and see a great variety of marine species, many of which are in danger of extinction. Then head by boat to beautiful Violines Island, which is full of lush tropical vegetation and birds. Spend time relaxing on the beach, or swimming in its safe bay. During the dry season, travellers can snorkel in the reefs of Violines Island. Or take a boat to Terraba Mangrove Forest the largest mangrove forest under protection in Central America. Corcovado National Park, which is often

described as the most biologically intense place on Earth, is another notable place to visit. The zone has areas impenetrable by humans,

which allows for the existence of species that need the tranquillity of the forest in order to survive. In Corcovado and the Osa Peninsula, there are 375 species of birds; 124 species of mammals, more

than 50 of which are bats; 40 species of freshwater fish; 8,000 insects; more than 70 reptiles and 46 amphibian species. The clean rivers originate in the primary forests, and some — such as the Llorona, Corcovado and Sirena — flow into estuaries and are home to a large variety of aquatic birds. Jaguar populations also flourish in the area as they can take advantage of marine resources such as turtles. A coral reef can also be found a few metres from the forest, at Punta Salsipuedes. Because of the unchanging or recovering areas, Corcovado contributes to the important viable mammal populations of tapirs, peccaries and jaguars. It’s also an important site for caiman and crocodile conservation, as well as being home to the largest population of scarlet macaws in Costa Rica.

A private jungle paradise Oxygen Jungle Villas is the top option for travellers to explore these stunning destinations in one visit. Guests can soak in the sounds of nature from their own private jungle paradise, immerse themselves

in the ocean air on the pristine beaches nearby, or revel in the enchanting sunsets from the hotel’s palm-fringed infinity pool. More than just a hotel room, a stay at Oxygen

Jungle Villas is an experience defined by tranquillity, privacy and luxury. This boutique, adults-only hotel features eight ocean-view villas and four jungle-view villas. Rooms are surrounded by stately floor-to-ceiling glass walls, with the promise of panoramic ocean and jungle views. Each design-forward villa is equipped with a private terrace, perfect for spotting brightly coloured toucans and hummingbirds as they flit through the tree-shrouded gardens. Contemporary, minimalist furnishings exude elegance without distracting from the spectacular natural setting.

Relax and unwind One of the highlights at Oxygen Jungle Villas is the spa. The only one of its kind in Costa Rica, the DiV
