Kyrimai Hotel GEROLIMENAS, GREECE
Located right on the water’s edge in a sheltered bay of Gerolimenas with magnificent views over the open sea, the Kyrimai Hotel combines historic charm with modern comfort. Enter through a stone archway to find a world of peace and refinement, in a beautiful property that dates back to 1860. The property was founded by the Kyrimis family
to facilitate trade between the eastern parts of Greece and the western Mediterranean. For a time, the stone mansion and its adjoining warehouses were the only buildings standing in the deserted little bay, but as trade expanded from the 1860s to the early 1900s, the bay was transformed into a flourishing village with many traders and shops. Today, the former warehouses and the mansion,
along with the family’s tower, have been lovingly restored and converted into the boutique Kyrimai Hotel, which is still run by the Kyrimis family (now the fifth generation). The hotel consists of 23 rooms and suites, and an award-winning restaurant serving creative and fresh Greek cuisine based on local ingredients. Since 2006, the Kyrimai Hotel has been a member of the Historic Hotels of Europe
collection and has received numerous awards for its natural setting, history, service and gastronomy. Gerolimenas village is located almost at the tip
of southern Peloponnese in the rugged — and full of myths and stories — Mani region. Nowadays, the area of Mani with its dramatic scenery, wild landscapes and its numerous towers remains relatively off the beaten path. Spring and autumn are the best seasons to visit, however, the well- hidden pebble beaches, small coves and beautiful walks among wild nature and fortified villages are attractive to visitors all year round. The historic Kyrimai Hotel is the perfect place
to stay to enjoy quality time in a peaceful and authentic environment, while at the same time experiencing Mani’s fascinating past. At the front of the hotel, guests can sunbathe on or swim from the restored historic jetty. Kyrimai Hotel’s relaxing atmosphere, romantic and elegantly decorated rooms, and excellent restaurant all add to the authentic Greek experience. Additionally, the hotel’s down-to-earth staff offer guests a comfortable and personalised service.
DON’T MISS Wander around the many tower villages to discover the hidden paths and beaches of this remote area of Greece
