Villa Heidi Vacation Rentals – Tyven MJØSLI ESPA, NORWAY
Guests arriving at Mjøsli will immediately be struck by the breathtaking view of Norway’s largest lake, Mjøsa. It’s famous not only for its size but also for being the home of Skibladner, the world’s oldest paddle steamer still in regular service. Since 1856, the ship has been transporting passengers to and from settlements along the lake. It operates the same route today, hosting scenic tours and cultural events during the warmer summer months. Villa Heidi Vacation Rentals has recently
launched a new collection of high-end cabins called Tyven (‘The Thief’ in English). These cabins feature breathtaking modern elements such as glass walls and a large terrace facing the lake. High-end interiors and bathroom design flourishes create the feel of a luxury five-star hotel in the spectacular mountains. The nearby city of Hamar offers a host of
attractions, including activities such as a floating sauna and dining experiences at the newly built food quarter. There’s also a climbing park, bicycle routes, a golf club and even a small zoo. With
Hamar only an hour’s drive from Oslo, a day trip to the capital is easy enough. One of the most popular winter activities in
the area is dog sledding with the Hedmarksvidda huskies. A local couple, Kjersti and Asbjørn, offer the services of their 30 dogs to take guests from Mjøsli out into the wilderness. This is a thrilling and authentic way of exploring the area, with the wind rushing past you as the powerful huskies charge across the snow and ice. The region is a hotspot for winter sports. A
number of cross-country ski-tracks branch out from the cabin area and Budor Skitrekk ski facility is a short drive away. Mjøsli is also home to the unique and quirky
Konglehytta microcabins. These adorable little structures are shaped like pine cones, with textured wooden exteriors and a cosy ambience that’s perfect for a romantic getaway. They contain a shower, toilet, kitchen, a small living room and a double bed, as well as a terrace for outdoor cooking in all seasons. All family cabins come with outdoor whirlpool baths.
DON’T MISS The stunning new Tyven cabins opened in June 2023 and feature modern and luxurious design
