In Camera Art Boutique Hotel RHODES, GREECE
In Camera Art Boutique Hotel is more than a place to stay, it also offers the opportunity travel through time in the old town of Rhodes. It’s a hotel inspired by the past and designed for the future, paying respect to its home culture and environment. Located in the heart of the historical old town of Rhodes, the hotel’s interior design is a fusion of Greek tradition and the comforts of modern design. It features spectacular architectural and
design elements such as stone-built walls, arches, beamed ceilings and ornamented tiles. There is air-conditioning throughout the property, as well as free wi-fi, while rooms are kitted out with COCO-MAT mattresses and flatscreen TVs with satellite channels. All rooms come with views of the Medieval Old Town. An outdoor hot tub with hydromassage jets is also offered upon availability. The owner, Nikos Kasseris, is a photographer
who’s specialised in touristic, archaeological and advertising photography throughout his career. His work has been exhibited not only around Greece but also in Germany, Belgium, Russia and the USA.
His childhood dream was always to return to his
homeland and become an indelible part of it. So when he acquired the ruins of the estate that went on to become the In Camera Art Boutique Hotel, Nikos renovated the villa and lived there with his family from 2003 to 2012, adding seven suites and two rooms along the way. Nikos’s mission has always been to find a way to
blend the art of photography with his love for this special part of Rhodes. The hotel frequently hosts exhibitions, workshops and seminars conducted by Nikos, as well as a variety of established photographers, fulfilling his dream of a luxury small hotel that blends art, culture and history. There are numerous cameras exhibited around
the hotel, including the actual tools of Nikos’s work through the decades. Photography enthusiasts will marvel at leading cameras from the 1970s (Linhof, Canon), 1980s (Hasselblad, Sinar), 1990s (Fuji, Rolleiflex, Leica) and the early 2000s (Noblex), along with their lenses and all their accessories. Furthermore, there are many photographs on show that were taken using those very same cameras.
