Let me give you the characteristics of a fully functioning actualized person. First and probably most important, this is a person who never feels guilty or ashamed of him- or herself. This person doesn’t know how to feel ashamed. He or she doesn’t know how to be offended. As a matter of fact, guilt is not a way of life for such a person.


Now, guilt is not to be confused with learning from the past. If you do something and you don’t like it – or don’t like the way it turned out – you


can change it. You can decide not to repeat it or not to behave in that way anymore. In that way you resolve it. You also have the choice to be upset
