Flowering plants are the most recently evolved type of plant on Earth. There are many different species of flowering plants, including magnolias, water lilies, horse chestnut and wheat. Although there are many types of flowering plants, they all have the same basic structure.

The part of the plant that grows in the soil is the root.
All species of flowering plants have four organs:
1. Root 2. Stem 3. Leaf 4. Flower
A flowering plant may also have buds, fruits and seeds.
A bud produces new growth. It can develop into a side branch, leaf or flower.
