Compare the adaptations of different organisms to suit their habitats. In order to survive, organisms must adapt to their habitat.
In this topic we are learning to: zz
Adaptation is when an organism develops characteristics that make it better suited to its habitat. Adaptation is the result of evolution. For example, seaweeds can survive on rocky seashores because they have developed holdfasts, slimy mucus and air bladders that allow them to live in and out of water.
There are two main types of adaptation:
1. Physical adaptations: features of an organism’s body that help it survive.
2. Behavioural adaptations: what the organism does to help it survive.
