Course number: 24 KS1 KS2 Course overview


This hands-on, practical maths course will explore the key skills of questioning and how this facilitates learning. We’ll explore ways to support pupils’ learning using appropriate resources, models and images.


Throughout the day, Hazel will incorporate the progression and development of calculation. She will also look at ways to support children in understanding number and place value.


Learning outcomes


✓ Explore the role of support assistants in children’s learning.


✓ Refl ect on the use of language and questioning skills to encourage purposeful mathematical dialogue and support assessment.


✓ Understand how to use a range of key models and resources to promote mathematical understanding.
