This course responds to a real need in EYFS to clarify good practice in the light of Bold Beginnings – the 2017 Ofsted report into early years.
The three R’s have long been recognised as playing a crucial role in the early years curriculum and require dedicated teaching time considering what works most eff ectively for young children.
This training will help managers and leaders understand what eff ective practice should look like in EYFS. It will also assist teachers and support staff in understanding their role in teaching and learning reading, writing and maths.
Learning outcomes
✓ Understand how the recommendations of Bold Beginnings fi t alongside other Ofsted and DfE documentation, and how they can be incorporated into developmentally appropriate practice.
✓ Provide ideas for both child initiated and adult directed learning.
