This course will help you to develop a primary English curriculum which is deeper, richer and allows all learners to access quality texts for quality writing opportunities.
Bob will use ideas and strategies from his ‘Opening Doors’ toolkit to show how schools across the UK have been building a reading culture, incorporating literature and quality picture books to enhance learning.
There will also be a focus on continuity and progression so that a map of learning is designed for your school as well as your classroom.
Learning outcomes
✓ Explore strategies for opening doors to quality texts for learners and improve your confi dence in teaching them.
✓ Improve the planning of a more creative English curriculum.
✓ Enhance your knowledge of picture books, children’s fi ction, classic literature and poetry.
✓ Access ideas and resources for raising standards in reading and writing.
✓ Look at oracy and dialogic talk as processes and products in themselves.
