Tuning up for the 27th Congress in Toronto
Planning continues for the IFHE’s 27th Congress, which is scheduled to take place on 17-21 September 2022 in Toronto, Canada.
This much-anticipated 27th IFHE Congress is being organised by the Canadian Healthcare Engineering Society (CHES). “We look forward to welcoming
healthcare engineers, architects and facilities managers from around the world to Toronto in 2022. We have recruited IFHE members from around the globe to participate in the planning of this event,” said 2022 IFHE Congress chairman Jim McArthur. Following IFHE executive committee meeting on Saturday 17 September and the IFHE Council meeting on Sunday 18 September, activities will include a golf tournament on the Sunday 18 September, as well as the companion excursion to Niagara Falls – often dubbed the honorary 8th wonder of the world. The day will be topped off with the opening reception at the internationally-renowned Hockey Hall of Fame located in downtown Toronto. The programme portion of the
Congress will commence on Monday 19 September at the Westin Harbor Castle

Hotel, the conference headquarters. The morning will include opening ceremonies, followed by the keynote speaker and concurrent educational sessions. Monday’s keynote speaker is Haley
Wickenheiser, a four-time Olympic gold medallist in women’s ice hockey, and is a current resident physician. The companion programme for the day will include entry to the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, and lunch and shopping in Yorkville. The gala banquet on Monday 19
September will take place at the Liberty Grand Ballroom, complete with entertainment to please all. The programme will continue on Tuesday 20 September with a second keynote
speaker followed by concurrent sessions, and the day will end with closing ceremonies. The keynote speaker on Tuesday
20 September is Dr. Dafydd Williams, physician and former NASA astronaut, having completed two missions into space. There will be plenty of opportunities to visit the exhibition floor to spend time with our vendors and exhibitors. Tours of local hospitals are scheduled for Wednesday 21 September. “We hope to see you in Toronto in
