P2 Science names chief executive
US functional ingredients maker P2 Science has appointed Oihana Elizalde as chief executive, effective immediately. Oihana joins P2 after having
previously served as head of sales for BASF Personal Care North America and general manager of the Mirum business at Natural Fiber Welding. P2 says that experience,
combined with Elizalde’s technical background including a PhD in polymer science from Universidad del País Vasco in Spain makes her its ideal leader as the Connecticut company continues to grow its clean beauty portfolio and expand into new products and new markets. Elizalde replaces Neil Burns, who
retired in September having led P2 as chief executive from its spin-out from Yale University in 2011.

president Patrick Foley to lead the commercialization of P2’s main technology platforms, PIOzTM (air oxidation of renewable oils) and PICETM (biorenewable liquid polymers, including Citropol)
in personal care, flavours and fragrances, textiles, crop care, and other speciality chemical markets. “Oihana brings a passion and
set of skills to this team that will take us to the next level as we continue to bring green chemistry to the fore of the chemical industry,” said Foley. Elizalde said: “I am honoured
to join the talented team at P2 and lead this next phase of growth and expansion. P2 has grown into a leader in the field of green chemistry, offering products that set new standards in performance, functionality and sustainability. “We are well positioned to
rapidly grow our beauty business, expand into other strategic markets and keep harnessing the power of nature towards a cleaner future.”
Mibelle Biochemistry hires US vice-president to spur growth efforts
Swiss cosmetic actives maker Mibelle Biochemistry has appointed Mike Conti as its US vice-president, effective immediately. Conti, who will lead Mibelle’s US
sales and marketing team, has been working for more than 20 years in the cosmetic ingredients industry. “We are confident that his vision,
strategic thinking, and commitment to excellence will greatly contribute to the continued success of Mibelle Biochemistry,” said managing director Cornelia Schürch. Conti said: “I feel Mibelle
Biochemistry has large growth potential in the US as the consumer is looking for more high- performance skin care, associating nature and technology. takes helm French speciality ingredients distributor Summit Cosmetics Europe has appointed Carole Lajous as president and chief executive with immediate effect. The Paris firm said with over
30 years of experience in the raw materials industry, Lajous brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise. She previously managed
Cognis France and Laboratoires Serobiologiques, a producer of natural and green active ingredients for cosmetics and nutrition. This company was acquired by
BASF in 2010, and Lajous played a key role in the successful integration of Cognis France into BASF. She subsequently held the
position of CEO for various companies within the BASF Group. Eager to develop her skills
within companies specializing in cosmetics and natural ingredients, she founded her own company. There, Lajous was a senior

advisor and member of the board of directors of Roquette Frères, participating in operational missions linked to mergers and acquisitions projects.
Valerie Diele-Braun kicks off reign at IMCD Group
Valerie Diele-Braun has started her tenure as chief executive of Rotterdam-based speciality chemicals and ingredients distributor IMCD Group. She succeeds Piet van der
Slikke, who in December 2021 announced his intention to retire. Diele-Braun was formerly

chief executive of CABB Group, a German fine chemicals player and life science company, manufacturing active ingredients
as well as advanced intermediates, and has over 20 years of leadership experience in the speciality chemicals and ingredients industry. Prior to that, she was a member
of the executive board of Swiss- based chemicals manufacturer Achroma, responsible for two of the three global divisions of the company. Diele-Braun also had senior
executive positions with DSM Nutritional Products and Quest
International (now part of Givaudan). She holds a science degree from the State University of New York. “I have the honour to support
and lead IMCD in its next chapter. Jointly with our more than 4,800 employees, we will ensure that IMCD continues to deliver outstanding service as a trusted and high-performing business partner for our customers and suppliers,” she said.
