North Carolina - The new Catawaba Two Kings Casino pre-launch facility in Kings Mountain, N.C., opened to the public on July 1 and is protected by technologies from JCM Global. Catawba Two Kings selected JCM’s iVIZION bill validator, GEN5 Thermal Printer, and ICB Intelligent Cash Box system for the 500-slot casino.

JCM, which is working with Delaware North, the hospitality and gaming company consulting on the Catawba Nation’s casino project, is planning to install these same solutions in future development phases of the Catawba Two Kings Casino.

“Delaware North has had great success using JCM’s cash management products at its own gaming properties, and those products have worked very well during our first month of operations at Catawba Two Kings Casino,” commented Mike Ulizio, President of the Catawba Nation Gaming Authority on the agreement. “JCM Global is a key part of our commitment to operate the casino with industry- leading tools and processes.”

“We are honored to be a part of the Catawba Nation’s first casino venture, and we are pleased that our long- term partner Delaware North recommended JCM for this project,” said JCM SVP of Sales, Marketing, & Operations Dave Kubajak. “More Native American and First Nation casinos select JCM products than all other competitor products combined. We take that trust and responsibility seriously, and we continually defend our casino partners against evolving counterfeiting and cheating techniques.”

US - MGM Resorts has become the first US casino group to insist that all salaried employees must be vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. MGM has approximately 57,000 employees nationwide and said it is planning to hire several thousand additional workers.

MGM’s Brian Ahern said: “Our goal is to get as many people vaccinated as possible. We’re continuing to explore a variety of ways to do that, including expanding vaccination requirements among our workforce. This is an incredibly complex situation and we’re examining how expanded policies would potentially work and be implemented.”

MGM CEO, Bill Hornbuckle, added: “I know that for some of you this may be an unwelcome development – a consideration that we did not take lightly when making this decision.

“However, as one of the largest and most trusted operators and employers in our industry, MGM Resorts is determined to do our part to curb the spread of the virus and help counter alarming trends in cases, hospitalizations and deaths. Vaccination is the most effective tool in doing so.”

Te NBA Finals and the Olympics could not help New Jersey's sportsbooks to counter a national trend that has typically made July the slowest month of sports betting. But with relatively strong sports-betting revenue, another monthly record for online gambling, and strong results from Atlantic City's retail casinos, New Jersey's gaming outlets set a record for total gaming revenue in a month with $450.6m in July.

Online and retail sportsbooks accepted $578.7m in bets in July, down 24.5 per cent from $766.9m in June, according to official data. July 2021 was up 83.7 per cent from $315.1m in July 2020, a month with the relaunch of baseball and the beginning of the NBA bubble. July's wagering was far less than February's $743m handle, previously the low point of the year. Tat echoes 2019, when July's $251.4m handle was the lowest monthly tally of that year.

At 9.5 per cent, the hold percentage remained high in July for sportsbooks, yielding $55m in gross gaming revenue. Tat was down 22.9 per cent from $71.3m in June and up 86 per cent from $29.6m in July 2021. In the end, sports betting produced $8.3m in state and local taxes.

Baseball was the top sport in July with $195.4m in wagering over the course of the month, up from $169.3m in June. With the NBA Finals in July, basketball was second with $74.8m, down from $190.9m in June.

We are very pleased to become their trusted partner in the U.S. market.
