CALIFORNIA – The Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians has held the grand opening of the expansion of Rolling Hills Casino Resort in Corning, California.
The casino game and event spaces have increased by 60,000 and 30,000 sq.ft, respectively. Tribal members, city and county officials and guests were in attendance to celebrate the conclusion of the 15- month expansion project with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
In 2019, the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Tribe’s official restoration as a sovereign nation by breaking ground on a multi-million dollar expansion project. The Rolling Hills Casino and Resort expansion included a remodeled exterior and interior, total hotel room upgrades, an expanded conference center with ballroom and a 40 per cent larger gaming area. The new gaming space has added 10 new table games, as well as a new high limit gaming area with more than 80 high denomination slots.
US – Sebastian Salat has been selected as the recipient of AGEM’s Jens Halle Memorial Award honouring excellence in commercial gaming professionalism, and Alan Feldman has been selected as the recipient of the 2021 Peter Mead Memorial Award honouring excellence in media and communications.
“Sebastian Salat has been
travelling the world selling gaming machines for decades and was one of the few who could give Jens Halle serious competition over the years for international customer engagement and the placement of machines in casinos throughout world,” said AGEM President, David Lucchese. “We have always let the nominating criteria guide the selection of these AGEM Memorial Awards and I can’t think of a more deserving winner whose European base, global reach and overall career path mirrored those of Jens.”
“Alan has been ‘the voice’ of the industry for as long as I can remember and the reason is he has earned the respect of industry peers and the media alike with his professionalism and honesty through good times and bad,” AGEM Executive Director, Marcus Prater, said. “It’s a delicate balance to walk a tightrope of the enthusiastic hype our industry creates as well as the reasoned approach to business and Wall Street and our industry’s responsibility to problem gamblers. And yet Alan has been doing all of that with aplomb for decades. He continues to be a force for good and he meets and exceeds the nominating criteria for this award.”
