OKTO Signs Cashless Deal with Merkur


OKTO signs with MERKUR Slots and MERKUR Bingo to extend growing cashless relationship with UK machine players.


OKTO adds to its partnership agreements with Inspired and Merkur in the UK with another key operator added to the list.

GERMANY – Greentube has boosted its presence in the German market after taking its content live with local operator NOVOLINE, the online brand of LÖWEN Entertainment. The operator is Greentube’s first German B2B partner to take NOVOMATIC’s blue-chip titles live in the country and the portfolio includes 165 plus games, with many of the top- performers currently only available in the country on a select few websites.


Michael Bauer, CFO/CGO at Greentube, said: “Germany is a key market for us going forward and with our content already popular among local brick- and-mortar players we are excited to expand our presence online through this deal with NOVOLINE. As the first Greentube partner to offer NOVOMATIC’s blue-chip titles in Germany, apart from our own brand StarGames, this partnership is an important step for us as we gain a foothold in this newly- regulated and exciting market.”


HOLLAND – The Kansspelautoriteit, Netherland’s gambling authority, has opened the award procedure for a new horse racing licence in the country, which will cover the period of July 1 2022 to June 30 2027.


In the Netherlands, horse race betting requires a specialised totalizer licence. It’s a legal monopoly, so there’s only one licence. The current totalisator licence expires on 30 June 2022.


UK – A week after the deadline for completion of its bid was extended, DraftKings walked away from its £18.4bn offer for Entain. Jason Robins, DraftKings CEO, said that after discussions with Entain it had decided not to make a formal offer for the business. We are highly confident in our ability to maintain a leadership position and achieve our long-term growth plans in the rapidly growing North America market.


In response, Entain’s board said in a statement that it “strongly believes in the future prospects of Entain” and listed five areas that it said would treble its total addressable market to US$160bn, including growth in esports and interactive games.


MALTA – SYNOT Games has announced its latest games partnership deal. Malta-based operator Avento MT will deliver the SYNOT Games portfolio through its brands across Malta, Sweden and Romania.


“Avento MT is a very exciting operator for us, and this agreement allows us to increase our presence in the gambling world. Also, their business strategy and our development strategy is a perfect match - grounds for a fruitful partnership,” said Priscilla Gatt, Head of Business Development, SYNOT Games.

Te OKTO cashless payments brand continues to expand in the UK having secured agreements with both the MERKUR Slots and the MERKUR Bingo brands.


Te deals, which were completed and signed by Simon Dorsen, Chief Commercial Officer at OKTO and Sascha Blodau, General Manager, MERKUR UK the ACOS exhibition in London, will see the OKTO.WALLET available in 200 venues throughout the country stretching from Hereford to Harlow, Dundee to Dunstable and Cardiff to Coventry.


Te first implementations, which will see OKTO integrated with the existing in-venue cashless infrastructure via the GeWeTe hub, will take place at the 2,200-seat capacity MERKUR Bingo Hall in Cricklewood North London, the biggest bingo club in Europe, and MERKUR Slots high street gaming centre in Shepherds Bush, west London.


Simon Dorsen, CCO at OKTO who is responsible for directing the roll-out of the OKTO.WALLET in the UK said: “Tis is another major agreement and one that we are incredibly pleased to confirm with MERKUR, one of the most respected and recognised names in world gaming.

Malta Playson signs Rootz casino games supply deal


Playson has signed an agreement to provide its suite of titles to platform provider Rootz and its casino brands.


As part of a direct integration onto the Rootz iGaming platform, Playson’s entire catalogue of slots will be available via the provider’s site Wildz, which was established in 2019, followed in 2020 by Caxino. Earlier this year Rootz bolstered its product offering further by unveiling the most recent addition to its portfolio, Wheelz, fronted by Hollywood’s David Hasselhoff.

Switzerland


Groupe Partouche has entered into an agreement to sell all of the 57 per cent of the shares it holds in Casino de Crans- Montana in Switzerland.


Tis sale, conditional on obtaining the approval of the Federal Gambling Commission (CFMJ), will be finalised by the end of January 2022.


Under the terms of the Group’s syndicated loan, the sale of the Crans-Montana casino will contribute either, in part, to the reduction of the Group’s financial debt, or to a reinvestment of the sums. No mention has been made yet as to who is buying the share in the property.
