Dave Berry is the Executive Vice President of Public Engagement and Chief Regulatory Officer at Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis (AGLC). He is responsible for all provincially regulated gaming, liquor and cannabis activities as well as criminal investigations related to gaming, contraband tobacco, and cannabis trafficking. Also, his portfolio includes all social responsibility (SR) and industry staff training programs, policy development, communications, and marketing (SR and corporate brand). Dave is also the Commission’s Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer. In 2018, Dave was responsible for the implementation of the regulated private retail cannabis framework in which Alberta lead the nation in its ability to provide a regulated product to consumers and significantly reduce the illicit market with an estimated 83 per cent legal market penetration.
