It’s a completely different job from the traditional dealer that you will see on the casino floor. In the studio, we call them “game presenters” and “game show hosts,” as opposed to “dealers.” When I joined MGM Resorts, I thought there would be crossover from the casino floor, but we found that content originating from our studio called for a distinct skill set.


You need people who are comfortable in front of a camera, charismatic, and spontaneous, like TV hosts. We have presenters with acting and entertainment backgrounds, and we encourage them to interact naturally within the studio environment.


If someone outside waves through the glass, we want them to wave back. Tat authenticity makes a huge difference.


How agile is the setup when it comes to refreshing content or adding new games?


We have the ability to be flexible and move quickly when implementing new concepts and studio themes. We constantly look at performance metrics and if something isn’t resonating, we’re able to make changes. Version 2.0 of the studio is all about tightening gameplay and integrating even more of the Las Vegas environment into the experience.


Te set design feels like a real television production. How much effort went into building it?


A lot of thought went into the design and development of the studio.

What’s the collaboration process like between MGM Resorts, Playtech, and Fremantle?


It’s a true partnership. Te entertainment begins on our casino floor, so we focus on the live experience, the environment, and player interaction. Playtech provides the technology and game infrastructure, while Fremantle brings the instantly recognisable IP of Family Feud.


Family feud is a great example of the partnership working as intended, a major TV show reimagined as a live, interactive live dealer game. We wanted to make sure the game show hosts were super entertaining, and we’re happy to see all the positive feedback from the online players.


Construction wrapped up earlier in the year, and by the time Family Feud launched in August, the studio was operating like a true production environment. Inside, everything syncs – camera automation, lighting cues, presenter prompts, and the technology work seamlessly.


Where do you see this concept going next?


We see plenty of runway and the goal is digital growth. Live from Vegas is just the start. We’re merging entertainment and gaming into one connected experience. Ultimately, it’s about giving global players an authentic slice of the Las Vegas Strip. Tis will include elements of the MGM Resorts entertainment universe.
