Payam Zadeh, General Manager EMEA & Managing Director UK at JCM Global, at the G2E Vegas show

fine, we have the staff.” Tat’s changed. Salaries have gone up, labour markets have tightened, and operators are realising that automating cash management isn’t a luxury; it’s becoming essential.

In fact, the timing couldn’t be better. We’re seeing growing demand from operators in countries like Ireland and Germany, where staffing issues are especially severe. Tey understand that this kind of technology isn’t about cutting costs, it’s about keeping the casino running smoothly and securely.

Security is a major issue when handling cash. How does JCM’s system address that?

Te biggest risk with cash has always been internal. With our system, everything is monitored, you know exactly how much is in each cashbox at any moment. Every transaction is double-checked and recorded, which dramatically increases transparency and security.

In Germany, for example, our system has been certified by government authorities. Previously, casinos were required to have multiple officials from the financial authorities on-site to monitor cash levels. Now, because of our certified technology, one person can be on-site while another monitors remotely. It’s saving time, money, and resources for both casinos and regulators.

How easy is it for operators to implement these systems? One of the biggest benefits of JCM’s approach is that the hardware is

already “future-ready.” Our bill validators, like the UBA Pro, UBA Ultra and iVIZION, come with these capabilities built in. Operators only need to activate the features and install the server and administration tools. Tere’s no need to replace existing equipment, which makes the upgrade seamless and cost-effective.

We support all product lines, and our solutions work across different slot machine types and manufacturers. Tat’s a key advantage in Europe, where casino floors often feature a diverse mix of machines.

Do you see regional differences in adoption across Europe?

Yes, absolutely. In Southern Europe, staffing costs are lower, and recruitment is a little easier, so the urgency isn’t as high yet. But in Northern Europe, countries like Germany, Ireland, and the UK, operators are really feeling the pressure. Tey’re moving faster because they need solutions that can maintain operations without increasing headcount.

Finally, do you see this as a long-term shift in how casinos manage their operations?

Definitely. What started as an efficiency initiative has become a strategic necessity. Operators are no longer asking “if” they should automate - it’s “how soon.” Our role at JCM is to help them transition smoothly, protect their assets, and prepare for a future where automation, data insight, and security are fundamental to the casino’s success.
