CHANDLER, AZ — Microchip Technology has slashed the stat- ic power consumption of its mid- bandwidth FPGA and FPGA SoC devices in half, providing a small thermal footprint, excellent per- formance and greater computing power. The PolarFire FPGAs and
PolarFire SoC additions exceed the performance/power metrics of other low-density FPGA or SoC FPGA alternatives in the market, with fast FPGA fabric and signal processing capabilities, the most
Learning at Runtime with Teledyne AI Vision
Software WATERLOO, ONTARIO, CAN A - DA — Teledyne has released its Sapera™ vision software Edition 2021-07. Sapera Vision Software from Teledyne DALSA offers field- proven image acquisition, control, image processing and artificial intelligence functions to design, develop and deploy high-perform- ance machine vision applications. The new upgrades to the
Sapera Vision Software include enhancements to its AI training graphical tool Astrocyte™ and the image processing and AI libraries tool Sapera processing. Sapera vision software is
ideal for applications such as sur- face inspection on metal plates, location and identification of hard- ware parts, detection and segmen- tation of vehicles and noise reduc- tion on X-ray medical images. New features in this release include continual classification, anomaly detection with output heatmaps, and live acquisition for dataset creation. Continual classi- fication is a new algorithm that supports classifier pretraining in Astrocyte. The new anomaly detection algorithm is more robust in locating defects, while provid- ing the ability to generate output heatmaps. Heatmaps at runtime are very useful for obtaining the location and shape of defects with- out the need for graphical annota- tions at training. Finally, when creating data -
sets in Astrocyte, users can now acquire live video from a camera and generate a series of files auto- matically prior to training. During acquisition, images are prepared for training (i.e. adjusted for size and aspect ratio) before being
saved to a disk. Contact: Teledyne DALSA, 605 McMurray Road, Waterloo,
