Phoenix, AZ — ON Semiconductor has introduced its AR0521 CMOS image sensor, which is, according to the company, the first imaging product based on a 2.2 µm back-side illuminated (BSI) pixel technology plat- form. The new sensor was designed specifically for applications in security and surveillance equipment. The AR0521 is a small optical format 5 megapix-
el (MP) digital image sensor with an active pixel array of 2592 x 1944. It captures images in either linear or high dynamic range (HDR) modes with rolling-shutter readout, and includes sophisticated camera functions such as binning, windowing, and both video and single frame modes. The imaging solution offers 8-, 10-, or 12-bit out-
puts and exhibits excellent video performance at 5 MP, 60 frames per second (fps) with a 1440p mode for 16:9 video. Its low-light performance — often an important requirement in security camera applications — is largely due to the larger 2.2 µm BSI pixel that offers

Bedford, NH — Powerbox has intro- duced a 400W DC-DC converter for use in industrial automotive applica- tions in extreme environments. Designed for free-air convection cool- ing, the ENA400-M is packaged in an aluminum enclosure with a built-in heatsink and potted with thermally conductive polyurethane to improve heat dissipation. Rated for IP67 operation, and
with a power efficiency of 95 percent, the converter can be operated in ambient temperatures of –40 to +50°C (–40 to +122°F). Suitable for 24 and 48V industrial bus voltages, the converter meets ISO7637-2 and EN12895 requirements. The power supplies include
under-voltage, over-voltage and reverse-voltage protection. To save battery power, standby mode input current is below 1 mA, and no-load current is less than 30 mA.

al reset release, the AR0521 also offers advanced line synchronization controls for multi-camera (stereo) support. The sensor's ability to produce clear and sharp
images is enhanced by sophisticated digital processing functions, including integrated color and lens shading correction, digital gain and dynamic defect correction. Primarily aimed at remote video surveillance
applications, the AR0521 consumes little power even when operating at its full resolution of 60 fps, 10-bit output. Its operating temperature range of –30 to +85°C (–22 to +185°F) ambient allows the device to be

ENA400-M 400W DC-DC converter.
Two standardized output volt-
age are available, 12.5V (32A) and 24.5V (16A), both with an output power of 400W. The output is pro- tected against short circuit by con- stant-current limitation circuitry. This feature guarantees users that the DC-DC converter never shuts down, while simultaneously protect- ing the application against faulty behavior or inrush current at start- up, with the added benefit of a quick return to normal operation as soon as the fault is removed.
