ELX series EtherCat terminals built with safe inputs and outputs for direct field connection of devices in hazardous areas, including classified zones 0, 1 and 2. PC-based control from Beckhoff now combines industrial automation and process technology, including all the benefits of inte- grated and comprehensive diagnostics from the EtherCAT system. A broad range of explosion- proof components facilitate the implementation of barrier-free solutions across hazardous areas up to zone 0/20. The ELX series I/O terminals with explo-
sion protection expand the company’s compre- hensive EtherCAT terminal system, which already includes more than 100 different signal types. With upcoming certification in compli- ance with ATEX and IECEx, the ELX series meets all industry-specific guidelines for explo- sion protection and can be used in nearly all markets worldwide. The combination of compact I/O
