Schaumburg, IL — EPLAN and Siemens are synchro- nizing the parts data available through the online EPLAN Data Portal, ensuring users that the compo- nent datasets they import are identical to those on the Siemens Mall. The EPLAN Data Portal is a free, online source of

device and component data for machinery and plant design. Downloads now exceed over one million datasets per month from a selection of 700,000 parts from 179 manufacturers that continues to grow. Previously, data exchanges between Siemens and

EPLAN, covering additions and updates, only took place once or twice a year. This led to confusion among users about discrepancies between listings on the two portals for the same items. To address these concerns, Siemens and EPLAN now perform parallel updates of the Data Portal and Siemens Mall, and have standard- ized the selection structures of the individual articles. EPLAN users can import datasets directly from the embedded Data Portal right into

Laselec Intros Laser Wire Stripping System

Grand Prairie, TX — Laser stripping is establishing itself as an excellent solution for the stripping of shielded, twisted and multi-filament cables. It also meets the new requirements of the aerospace standards ASD EN2812, SAE AIR6894 published in recent months.

their projects, ready to use, and not have to recreate data manually. The portal provides essential data about the component which can include macros (pre- engineered circuit schematics), dimensions, trade characteristics, and connection and mounting proper- ties that can be easily entered into the current design file or archived for future use. Non-EPLAN users can access the Data Portal

and get a DXF representation of electrical schemat- ics, as well as commercial data and BOM informa- tion. Currently, 43 participating vendors provide over 100,000 datasets with DXF documentation. The com- mercial data and BOM information is available for

every product on the EPLAN Data Portal as well. Contact: EPLAN Software & Services, LLC,

SILPURAN®

6760/50 A new high purity,

low-coefficient-of-friction, self-adhesive LSR ideal for injection molding of medical devices

Laser wire stripping system. Laselec has introduced its Sy-

lade 7 laser wire stripping system, which is available as a standalone unit or to be integrated into an auto- mated production line for harness building. Operation is simple, the user selects or scans the stripping program and inserts the cable. The stripping process starts automatical- ly after being triggered by a sensor. The system comes equipped with the company’s EasyStripping software, allowing for continuous production without the operator having to man- ually adjust the settings. In recent years, cable laser strip-

ping machines have followed a trend of sophistication, increased power, size, and capacity. Laselec’s Sylade technology is commonly used in the field of aerospace cabling and offers

precision, quality and consistency. Contact: Laselec, Inc., 2605 N
