EA Expands Lineup of Touchscreen Displays

Gilching, Germany — Electronic As- sembly (EA) has expanded its uniTFT family of intelligent touch- screen displays. The new modules have a diagonal screen size of 10.1 in. (25.7 cm). Developed in- house, the intelligent display modules with object graphics offer a wealth of design op- tions to users. The new uniTFT101

makes it easy to combine, modify and adapt many ob- jects to a particular need. All objects can be positioned, ro- tated and zoomed in on as re- quired onscreen. Attributes such as transparency and color can also be assigned. The display offers the option to link objects to actions as well as the capability to han- dle moving objects. With the use of style

sheets, it is possible to stan- dardize the look of all elements, cre- ating elegant and user-friendly de- signs. With Unicode, any font can be used, allowing worldwide applica- tion. A specially designed PC graphic tool, uniSKETCH, enables users to create screen layouts and interfaces, edit the properties of objects and adapt style sheets. Tones can also be incorporated for a range of functions, from acoustic feedback for operating procedures to entire jingles. Also available are display mod-

ules with touch panels that use resis- tive or PCAP technology. With PCAP touch, multi-touch inputs, similar to smartphones and tablet computers, can also be used. The appropriate

touch controller and software come integrated into the display modules. When connected to external de-

vices, actuators and sensors, the dis- play modules are able to access all

standard industrial electronic inter- faces, including SPI, RS-232, I2C bus and USB. Several analog inputs, one PWM

output and 16 digital I/O channels allow the module to be used for all types of control tasks. The video input also provides direct playback of video. The displays include a new internal macro language, which allows them to be operated as standalones for the si-

multaneous control of other devices. Contact: Electronic Assembly
