YXLON Upgrades Cougar’s Manipulation System

Hudson, OH — After the successful integration of a new precision manipulation system into YXLON’s Cheetah microfo- cus X-ray inspection system in 2016, the company is now upgrading its Cougar system as well.

The entire manipulator

was redesigned to improve the x and y axes, including a change of motors. As a result, parts under inspection can be moved with high accuracy into the required positions. Accuracy and repeat -

ability are the cornerstones of inspection. Repeat ability has been increased by 10 times by the new manipula- tor, enabling easier AXI inspection routines and bet- ter image quality of smaller and less dense features, as tests have shown. The company’s Micro3 Dslices

laminography technology offers superior results quickly. The new virtual rotation axis and the new manipulator assembly also provide

simplified operation and higher inspection throughput.

CUI Introduces Line of Peltier Modules

Tualatin, OR — CUI's thermal man- agement group has introduced a new line of high-performance Peltier modules. The thermoelectric coolers' arcTEC™ structure makes use of a combination of thermally conductive resin between the ceramic and cop- per on the cold side of the module, high-temperature solder, and larger P/N elements made from premium silicon ingot. The elasticity of arcTEC's resin

layer allows for thermal expansion and contraction during the repeated heating and cooling of normal opera- tion, which reduces stress on the ele- ments, resulting in a better thermal connection, a strong mechanical bond and no marked drop-off in perform- ance over time. High-temperature solder and larger silicon elements are incorporated to enable faster and more uniform cooling.

The CP20H, CP30H, CP39H,

CP69H, and CP85H series all con- tain the arcTEC structure and range in size from 15 to 40 mm (0.6 to 2 in.), with profiles as low as 3.1 mm (0.12 in.). These thermoelectric modules are available with a delta Tmax of 77°C (170.6°F) and current ratings that range from 2 to 8.5A. Due to their reliable solid state

construction, precise temperature control and quiet operation, the Peltier modules are suited to high- density, high-power medical and industrial applications as well as refrigeration and sealed environ- ments where forced air cooling is not

an option. Contact: CUI, Inc., 20050 SW
