PRODUCT FOCUS: CAFM & IT AN APP-ROPRIATE SOLUTION

The future of facilities management is app-centric, says Karl Broom, Senior Manager, Sales at FSI, an MRI Software Company, as he explains why the company’s latest technology is changing the game.

With the world now heavily reliant on mobile apps in everyday life, it’s hard to believe that just a decade ago their usage was few and far between.

And today, their evolution shows no sign of slowing. One such instance is how they are now being harnessed in residential communities and workplaces, influencing the wellbeing and user experience of residents and employees.

Karl Broom, Senior Manager, Sales, explains how the app-based technology of @yourService from FSI, an MRI Software Company, is enhancing how end-users engage with their FM teams and wider communities, and the ways in which both parties benefit.

In a mobile-first world, employees and residents want familiar, easy-to-use technology when engaging with FM and building management teams.

“Webpage portals are often quite restrictive and limited in their accessibility” explains Broom. “Building managers using a mobile-first approach to connect with end-users will be able to serve their communities much more effectively.”

“It’s about empowering users – both in residential and workplace environments – to connect to their communities and complexes. And what better way to do that than with an app in the palm of their hands?”

The tail-end of the pandemic has seen some employees slowly reintroduced to the workplace, and others actively choosing to work from home.

Office-based employees have become much more aware of their own health when at work. Apps that actively work to resolve issues surrounding comfort and wellbeing, all while keeping employees in the loop, provides a much- needed level of assurance.

“This app gives employee end-users a way to instantly report cleanliness and hygiene issues. From their phones, wherever they are and deliver these reports directly to their building management teams,” says Broom.

“This technology ensures their voice and concerns are heard by the right teams and provides a gateway to supporting their overall wellbeing.”

For those working from home, building managers can now empower users to directly engage the services or information they need, without needing to be on-site.

“There is a growing need to provide services to people wherever they are,” explains Broom.

“Whether someone is in the office, at home, off-site – this app technology allows them to make requests, track

Value-added services and bookings Now teams can introduce value-added services for end- users through an app. Employees can do anything from order food to the office or get their clothes dry-cleaned – with the app’s payment gateway handling the booking.

Residents can also engage with services through the app. Whether it’s maintenance and repairs or window cleaning and garden work. A clear, easy-to-use interface gives booking options for users to select a time convenient with the daily schedule – which also gives FM teams greater understanding of what tasks need to be completed and when.

This functionality widens an organisation’s ability to provide services, generate new revenue streams and support their end-users – which traditionally wouldn’t have been possible without this technology.

Fully configurable and customisable @yourService can be custom branded with corporate image banners and logos to make everything feel familiar and consistent for end-users, encouraging them to engage more actively within this digital community.

Next-level communication With a feed of everything that’s going on, residents and employees are always kept in the loop. Whether it’s an event or announcement about the office or works taking place in a residential complex, end-users have all the information they need, when they need it.

The future of facilities management is app-centric This technology is redefining the ways that end-users are engaged, both in residential and workplace settings.

“Access beneficial, value-added services. Stay informed about events and information. Feel connected to the places they work and live. @yourService is the platform for these benefits to be realised. All the while opening a world of opportunity to building managers,” concludes Broom.

@yourService is also a finalist in the Tomorrow’s FM Awards 2022 – vote here.
