WHAT’S NEW?
SMARTEN UP A HOTEL WASHROOM WITH THE
INTELLIMIX TAP The UK’s hospitality sector has suffered immensely as a result of the pandemic, and we’re all hoping that this summer will provide the industry and those who work in it with a much-needed boost. Now, as we cautiously say goodbye to restrictions, hotel owners across the country will know that their guests are prioritising hygiene more than ever.
In hotel washrooms especially, we’re currently seeing a big increase in demand for more touchless, smart technology. When you look at the benefits, it’s easy to see why hoteliers are changing the status quo and adopting more innovative solutions. The more advanced touchless products on the market are not only helping to minimise the transition of bacteria across hotel spaces, but are also able to reduce running costs and maintenance requirements at the same time.
Take Ideal Standard’s Intellimix smart tap for example. This is a cost-effective, completely hands- free product, which is designed to dispense both soap and water with every use.
Despite delivering an optimum volume of soap with every wash for improved hygiene, Intellimix actually reduces the overall amount of soap and water typically used in hotel washrooms with traditional fittings, minimising waste and generating cost savings of up to 80% on soap and 85% on water.
Maintenance and cleaning teams in hotels will also benefit, as the levels of soap won’t need replenishing as often as traditional dispensers, and as all of the soap is directed straight into the bowl, there’s less mess to clean up.
Bluetooth enabled, Intellimix offers parameter settings which can be easily controlled by facilities managers via a smartphone. From the palm of their hands, they can
conveniently change a variety of settings on all Intellimix taps in a hotel, including how much soap is dispensed, how long water should flow and how often anti-stagnation flushing should occur. It also sends notifications when soap is running low to avoid unnecessary physical checks.
The smart fitting is available in Chrome and Black Onyx versions, and can be panel mounted. To further promote better handwashing in hotel spaces, the tap has an in-built screen, displaying clear handwashing instructions to enhance the user experience.
What’s more, the screen can also be set to display a company logo or any advertising image during idle times, ensuring hotel washrooms look smart and on brand.
The product has even been recognised by the design community, due to its innovative features.
Intellimix won two coveted international design awards last year, the Red Dot Award for Product
Design 2021 and the iF DESIGN AWARD 2021. Both recognise the highest standards of quality, innovation and functionality from product manufacturers across the globe.
Intellimix has been introduced to support commercial and hotel environments in creating more hygienic, more efficient spaces, and helps ensure that all hotel guests are handwashing effectively. Not only that, but it also helps businesses reduce their impact on the environment, while also lessening vital operational costs.
As well as the fitting, Ideal Standard has also developed Intellimix Mild Antibacterial Foam Soap, a unique formula to ensure flawless performance and optimal hygiene. Irritant-free and with a rich, thick texture, it is gentle on skin and offers a luxurious experience every time.
