are sharing their workspace with their children. These conditions are unlikely to boost productivity when there is so much distraction around.

There’s been no better opportunity for the workplace to blossom with fluid, functional spaces created to encourage co-working and collaborative thinking, areas to socialise (and get much-needed respite from video calls). With more than three-quarters of workers (76%) telling us they’re finding it harder to maintain healthy habits at home, the office environment should be designed with flexible amenities to access fresh water, make nourishing snacks and walk away from their desk.

High quality kitchen amenities and hot and cold beverage facilities are some of the most valued aspects of a workplace environment to people, according to our insights, with almost 1/3 of workers saying improvements made to buildings in these areas would make working in their office more appealing than staying at home. The mighty cup of tea’s pulling power should never be underestimated, it seems.

The true value of design Maximising such aspirational and functional design in the workplace can power the productivity of individuals and teams needing a place to focus and collaborate. From ergonomic desks to meeting rooms and co-working areas, fluid design elements not only boost general wellbeing,

but also help to attract and retain the best talent for companies. After all, more than nine out of 10 (93%) of workers would be more likely to accept a job which offered an appealing space to work in.

A fluid approach to design has the potential to transform the workplace and enrich the everyday lives of employees. Minor adjustments that do not require major investments can greatly enhance productivity and reduce the risk of burnout – an issue so often missed when an employee is stuck at home. Something as simple as installing high-quality facilities at a key location like the BRITA VIVREAU Extra C-Shape water dispenser could create a conversational hub where a business’ next big idea is born.
