SHOW GUIDE DO THE ROBOT

Robotic innovations are set to take centre stage at this year’s ISSA/Interclean Amsterdam show, thanks to the new Robotic Arena. One of the big names in the world of robotic cleaning machines is Diversey Care – here, they tell us all about what robots they’ll have on show.

The new TASKI Intellibot robotic cleaning machine range takes centre stage on the Diversey Care stand (01.211) at ISSA/Interclean Amsterdam. Launched in the UK earlier this year, these innovative robots are destined to transform floorcare, building care and facilities management by supporting new ways of working and delivering higher levels of efficiency, performance and value. The Diversey Care stand will include the current models and exciting additions to the range.

By cleaning floors ‘hands-free’, TASKI Intellibot machines liberate operatives to focus on other revenue-generating and value-added tasks. The first machine available in the UK is the TASKI swingobot 1650 scrubber dryer. Its unique performance capabilities can cut labour costs by up to 80% and water and chemical consumption by 85% to reduce the overall cost of cleaning.

Following the UK launch, customers immediately recognised that the TASKI Intellibot machine’s performance- boosting benefits will help them to improve their productivity as part of a strategy to offset the impact of the new living wage. Customers also identified robotic machines as an ideal

solution for cleaning restricted and sensitive areas where conventional floorcare techniques are impractical, inconvenient or expensive. There has been particular interest from customers in healthcare, building care and the public sector:

• Building Care/FM: TASKI Intellibot becomes a new member of the cleaning team, carrying out routine floorcare duties ‘hands-free’ while operatives focus on other duties to maximise overall productivity, reduce the overall cost of cleaning and add value for customers.

• Healthcare: TASKI Intellibot is ideal for corridors, reception areas and other public spaces to support high profile round-the-clock cleaning.

• Public Sector: TASKI Intellibot is ideal for open spaces in government, education and other public sector buildings. The machine’s ability to work on its own makes it suitable for cleaning at unsocial times.

Advanced machine features include complete programming flexibility, remote management capability and performance metrics, and interconnectivity with the Internet of Clean, Diversey Care’s re-imagination of cleaning industry. After initial setup by TASKI specialists, the machines can be used by any authorised site-operative who enters a unique password. No special training is required and different operatives can be restricted to specific tasks, areas and routes. Suitably trained operatives can also programme new areas and routes.

The TASKI Intellibot always follows the same path in each designated area. After completing its task the machine comes to rest in the same pre- programmed position, typically chosen to minimise the risk of obstructing

ongoing activities. They can also clean simple rectangular floors without special programming. Manual operation is selectable for ad-hoc spot cleaning tasks or to transfer the machine to different parts of the building.

On-board sensors provide a 360° view that allows the machine to operate hands-free, always follows the correct routes and slows down and stops when it encounters people or unexpected objects. Full-perimeter touch-shield sensors immediately detect anything touched by the machine, apply a stop brake and reverse it quickly and safely away.

Much of the initial interest from innovator and early-adopter customers has focused on the ability of the TASKI Intellibot machines to add a new dimension to existing cleaning operations. Many have also seen that their novelty and high profile present new opportunities for increasing awareness of cleaning operations, or other marketing messages, among building occupants and visitors. To meet this demand Diversey Care can apply full body- wrap graphics to customers’ own designs on any machine.

NOT GOING TO

INTERCLEAN? Diversey Care is holding a showcase at its Northampton offices on Wednesday 25th May for customers who are unable to make it to ISSA/Interclean. In addition to the Intellibot machines, the company will be highlighting recent innovations including those featured at the Amsterdam event.
