BAMBOO TOILET PAPER? IT'S DEFINITELY NOT A

Created by British entrepreneurs Chris Forbes and Julie Chen, The Cheeky Panda makes 3ply bamboo toilet paper. This means that rather than using traditional toilet paper or recycled toilet tissue (which use de-inking chemicals which can cause potential health hazards), Britons will now be able to purchase toilet paper which is made from 100% virgin bamboo pulp and that is 100% tree-free.

CLEANING COMPANIES Cleaning companies and other small businesses now have ready access to a streamlined insurance service tailored for the needs of their sector.
Darwinsure is a new online insurance scheme designed to provide quick quotes, competitive prices and secure payment for small businesses seeking specialist cover.
Darwin Clayton, one of the UK’s longest-established independent insurance brokers, has joined forces with specialist insurer Ageas to launch the new online solution.
Business owners can obtain their insurance cover via a range of electronic devices – from a smart phone or tablet to laptop or desktop computer – using Darwin Clayton’s secure e-trading platform.

What this means is that because bamboo is a grass, unlike trees (which take 30 years to grow), it can be harvested every year. It also has many skin friendly benefits including being super absorbent and anti-bacterial (ideal for toilet paper use).
Another added benefit of The Cheeky Panda is that it is FSC®
100% certified.
So far the team behind The Cheeky Panda have not found any other tissue products that are certified at FSC® 100%. Most toilet paper brands are either FSC®
MIX or FSC® recycled.
Thanks to the support of the public via Crowdfunder (127.9% overfunded) and an angel investor, The Cheeky Panda has also designed and created a range of other tissue products including kitchen towels, napkins and wet wipes.
The Cheeky Panda toilet paper was officially launched to coincide with Earth Day (April 22nd). Earth Day is celebrated annually across the globe to demonstrate support
for environmental protection. Both Chris and Julie felt that by holding the launch party shortly after this day they would be showing their commitment to protecting the environment.
As well as gaining the support of the public and an angel investor, The Cheeky Panda has also won the support of the Essex Innovation Programme (EIP). EIP works with established companies and small businesses to help them develop and market innovative products and services.
To date, two mentors have been provided by EIP to assist growth of The Cheeky Panda including Essex businesswoman of the year, Sarah Brockwell. Ed Smith, Managing Director and Head of Global Transaction banking from Lloyds Bank and Khurram Hamid, Global Head of Ecommerce and Digital Media from GSK have also joined The Cheeky Panda as non-executive directors.
