SPINACLEAN LAUNCHES SKYVAC

SOLO Spinaclean are proud to announce the launch of the latest innovation in high level cleaning, the SkyVac Solo.

The all-in-one system is designed to provide facilities managers with a portable machine that removes the need for separate generators – helping to reduce energy consumption. The new product features the world’s most powerful gutter cleaning system, SkyVac, and a reliable, long-lasting Honda power pack.

SkyVac Solo offers a unique interlocking trolley system that

MICROFIBRE TO TACKLE WATCHDOG’S

HYGIENE CONCERNS Following the news that BBC’s Watchdog programme found bacteria from faeces in samples of iced drinks from some of the UK’s leading restaurants and coffee shops, there has been an increasing flow of advice and information from the cleaning industry, particularly from the ice machine manufacturers who have been queuing up to give advice to operators.

Alastair Scott, Sales Director at Robert Scott, commented: “It’s not just simply about the cleanliness of a restaurant’s hand hygiene practices. This whole issue should raise the level of concern regarding the cleaning of all food preparation surfaces, floors and dining

duty users in mind, and features the robust, tried and tested, SkyVac industrial chassis, a key start option and is equipped with on-board suction poles and accessory storage.

releases the onboard power pack so that it can be used independently for onsite power, as well as making vehicle transportation easy. The system was designed with heavy-

tables, ensuring that the right products and training are used for each potentially hazardous surface area.

“All equipment, work surfaces, floors, cupboards, walls and appliances must be cleaned appropriately, regularly and thoroughly, ensuring that dirt and grease are removed and bacteria significantly reduced. One of the most effective materials to use is microfibre, and even better a disposable version of this proven method of tackling the removal of bacteria without the need for potential harmful chemicals.

“We introduced microfibre into our range nearly 20 years ago, and this year launched Mi-Cloth, a new disposable microfibre cleaning cloth which prevents the cross-contamination of surfaces as you can wipe and throw.”

Available as individual sheets or on a roll, Mi-Cloth is a strong, hardworking cloth able to be used with minimal

Andy Whiting, Managing Director and Chief Innovation Officer at Spinaclean, said: “With our latest product, SkyVac Solo, we created a system that would take away some of the operational headaches of working at height, reducing energy consumption and the transportation of cleaning systems. I’m really pleased to launch a product that responds to our customers’ needs, and delivers a product that will provide real cost savings, reduce risk and save time.”

amounts of water. It’s strong enough for hypochlorite solutions and is hygiene colour coded. As with the nature of microfibre Mi-Cloth ensures that bacteria are trapped in the cloth and not released onto the next surface to be wiped - the microfibre acting like a magnet and so helping to solve the problem of cross-contamination, particularly in hospitals, care homes and the catering sector.

Alastair continued: “The revelations from the Watchdog investigation should be a wake-up call to all catering establishments - in fact any business that is serving the public should be paying attention to their cleaning regimes and at Robert Scott’s we’re here to help.

“Cloths used in catering and healthcare institutions have been found to still contain high levels of bacteria after being laundered. By using Mi-Cloth as opposed to traditional cloths cleaning professionals can be confident that as much as 99.9% of bacteria will be removed from surfaces with the risk of cross contamination also significantly reduced.”

Mi-Cloth sheets comes in packs of 50 and the roll contains 250 sheets which can be used in dispensers, stored and carried on trolleys or kept on worktop surfaces.
