New Gel Protein Recovery System Released
Inert Low Cost Flow Meter for OEM Applications
Titan Enterprises announces its third generation 800 Series flow meter range. The new 800 Series flow meters incorporate a wide range of developments further enhancing long-term, high performance operation for OEM customers in drink dispensing, laboratory testing, cooling, pharmaceutical, medical and semiconductor applications.
The competitively priced 800 series turbine flow meter is designed to give high performance (+/- 0.1% repeatability) across 6 flow ranges from 0.05 to 15 litres per minute. It’s totally non-metallic wetted components make it the ideal choice for the metering of a wide range of fluids from -25°C to +125°C. To ensure the highest degree of inertness to metered fluids the new 800 Series flow meter body is now moulded in an FDA approved grade of PDVF. Protea Biosciences Group, Inc have announced the release of their advanced Gel Protein Recovery GPR-850 instrument. The GPR®
System delivers
efficient recovery of gel separated intact proteins through a multiplexed, automated, microfluidics chip-based process.
The GPR System (consisting of the GPR-850 instrument, GPRchips™, and GPR Buffers and Reagents) enables researchers to recover intact proteins and peptides for subsequent top-down proteomics experiments. This process facilitates effective protein identification, characterisation and quantitation by mass spectrometry.
The effectiveness of the system is enhanced by the use of proprietary reagents (which utilise Protea’s Progenta™ Surfactants technology) together with the microfluidic-based GPRchip. The GPR System combines these components to provide a high throughput recovery platform for researchers interested in studying intact proteins.

New Chilling Incubators Torrey Pines Scientific announces new larger EchoThermTM vibration free bench top chilling incubators that are ideal for protein crystallography and other life science laboratory uses.
The incubators are 100 litre capacity and are Peltier-based for heating and chilling. They have no compressors or CFC’s and are vibration-free making them ideal for doing protein crystallisations.

High Precision Laboratory pH and Conductivity Meters GR Scientific have launched a new range of high precision, laboratory pH and Conductivity meters. The E-chem®
range comprises three instruments.
The E512 is a three decimal place pH meter that offers easy to use operating procedures with full GLP compliant features for monitoring system performance. It also offers mV and Redox measurement options. For worldwide application, it holds a number of buffer set values for routine calibration.
The E515 Conductivity meter is an auto ranging instrument that covers all application requirements. It also has measuring modes for resistivity, salinity and Total Dissolved Solids. The meter is also GLP compliant. The E522 is a combined pH/Conductivity meter that offers all of the features of the two individual parameter meters, E512 and E515. So for customers needing to measure both pH and Conductivity, the E522 is a very economic option.

There are two models. The IN55 is fully programmable and the IN50 is simple digital. Chamber size for both is 100 litres. They are settable form 4.0ºC to 70.0ºC and feature PID temperature control to ± 0.1°C, digital display to 0.1ºC, and accuracy to ± 0.2ºC.
They have RS232 I/O port for remote control and data collection, digital timer in hours, minutes and seconds with user settable Auto-Off, temperature ramping on programmable models, and audible alarms.
Chamber size is 24” high by 20” deep by 14” wide and come with eight stainless steel racks with room for twelve. Racks are split, front to back, in the middle for variety of sample sizes.
The units are shipped with universal power supplies that take AC line inputs from 100VAC to 265VAC, 50/60 Hz and converts that to 12 volts DC for the unit, AC line cord for the country of use, users manual and full 12-month warranty.
