Launch of Three New FluoroSep™ HPLC Packing Materials for Diffi cult Separations

ES Industries is launching three new FluoroSep™ HPLC packing materials, available in either bulk or packed columns, the new standard for diffi cult separations and purifi cations.

“Having listened to the concerns of separation scientists with diffi cult separations, we wanted to create a solution that was selective, rugged, and reproducible for separations that are not obtained easily using traditional C8 and C18 phases,” said David Kohler, President. “ES Industries and FluoroSep are well known and respected chromatography brands, and we felt the time was right to extend our offering to provide our customers with a complete selectivity palette for HPLC Separations.”

“By design, FluoroSep media, based upon ultra-high purity metal free silica and proprietary polymers and silanes, are proven

to provide alternative and complementary separations for many analytes. Fluorinated phases can provide different elution orders, leading to enhanced selectivity for diffi cult-toseparate compounds.“ noted Vice President and Technical Director Dr. Matthew Przybyciel. “Fluorinated phases can aid in identifi cation, proof of purity, and quantitation and offer chromatographers the possibility to use simpler mobile phases avoiding extreme pH conditions and complex mobile-phase preparations.”

FluoroSep™ is offered in bulk with particle sizes from 1.8 to 20 micron and in packed columns from capillary to preparative. The three new FluoroSep phases are: FluoroSep HILIC, a Fluorinated Diol Phase with unique retention and separation of highly polar halogenated compounds; FluoroSep RP-XP, a Fluorophenyl phase with a perfl uoroalkyl chain attached for the separation and retention of alkyl and aromatic halogenated compounds including isomers; FluoroSep RP-XF, an Alkyl perfl uorinated phase with perfl uorinated end-capping designed for the separation of halogenated/ non-halogenated molecules.

29347pr@reply-direct.com High Throughput LC-MS Means Low Downtime

The cost of a LC-MS dwarves the cost of a nitrogen generator, yet it is this that can cause problems if not chosen wisely. Nitrogen generators which incorporate a compressor in the same box look neat but have higher running costs, more replacement parts and longer downtimes. Such a system runs the risks of vibration, overheating and wet membranes. A service contract is a must.

Nitrogen generator systems from cmc Instruments do not run this risk. In addition, a higher quality membrane and a lower ratio ensure a longer lifetime. Annual maintenance involves a fi lter change and can be performed by the user in fi fteen minutes. No service contract is needed.

To maximise profi tability the pharmaceutical industry puts high demands on the instrumentation used. If any part of the LC-MS system requires downtime, planned or unplanned, it affects profi tability. The belief at cmc Instruments is that it is not how much you pay on day one that matters – longevity, reliability, cost of ownership and low downtimes are more important. Customers tend to agree, cmc Instruments are market leaders in Germany.

The generators feature a simple front panel with rear gas outlets customised to the individual LC- MS. Different sizes are available so that multiple instruments can be supplied with nitrogen from one generator. Just quote the number of instrumentsAnchor, make and model – cmc Instruments will do the rest.

cmc Instruments manufacture a wide range of gas generators – nitrogen membrane, nitrogen PSA, hydrogen, zero air, TOC and purge gas – all to the same high standards. The complete product line is now sold and supported by Chromalytic in the UK.

29385pr@reply-direct.com ADVERTORIAL Ellutia 7000 GC Flowmeter Available to Buy Online

Ellutia has collaborated with its offi cial consumables partner Camscon (http:// www.camscon.com) to offer the 7000 GC Flowmeter for purchase online.

Accurate and repeatable gas fl ow measurements are a crucial part of obtaining good results from your Gas Chromatograph. The 7000 GC Flowmeter makes gas fl ow measurement easier and more accurate, helping to eliminate user errors. The 7000 GC Flowmeter features a small lightweight design (130 x 68 x 30 mm

and 150 g), with a built in rechargeable battery and a full colour OLED display.

• Measures fl ows of Nitrogen, Air, Helium, Hydrogen, Carbon Dioxide, Oxygen, Argon and Argon/5% Methane

• Resolution of 0.1 ml/min • Range of 0.1 to 500 ml/min (0.1-275 ml/min for CO2

• Accuracy +- 2.5% or 0.4 ml/min • Calibration traceable to UKAS Standards

Designed for Gas Chromatography

In addition to standard fl ow measurement the 7000 GC Flowmeter has several modes designed specifi cally for the GC user. Linear Velocity mode allows the user to set their column diameter and then display the average column velocity in cm/sec. Split Flow mode allows the user to see a live display of both the split fl ow and split ratio.

The 7000 Flowmeter is available to purchase from http://www.camscon.com/7000-gc-fl owmeter/ 28382pr@reply-direct.com
