Borough of Airdrie Police and Dundee City Police. The first in die-stamped white metal shows the Arms of the Burgh over script capitals ‘ABP’, two long lugs suggest a cap badge (JCGp18); the second again in die-stamped white metal is either a collar or shoulder badge, the Arms of Dundee over script capitals ‘DP’ four lugs (JCGp60), good condition (2) £80-£120

Ayrshire Constabulary Helmet/Cap Badge c.1926-53. A two part die-stamped chromed metal example, the Imperial crown over a Thistle style star, the applied circular mount, ‘Ayrshire Constabulary’ bears St. Andrew in the centre, two lug fasteners (JCGp28), good condition

Dunbarton Burgh Police and Dumbartonshire Constabulary. The first a kepi badge is in die-stamped white metal, St. Edward’s crown over a title strap, ‘Dunbarton Burgh Police’, enclosing the Arms of the Royal Burgh (one of two lugs re-soldered); The second and third are stated to be helmet plates, c1887 onwards, both are in die-stamped white metal, St. Edward’s and the Imperial crowns over circular straps, ‘Dumbartonshire Constabulary’. The centre, presumably the castle from the elephant’s back is now enhanced with a flag. It is not part of any official Arms connected with the county. The Victorian pattern has one lug part broken, the post 1901 has been indifferently repaired with solder at the base of the crown, (JCGp53&56), good condition (3) £300-£400

Dundee Police Helmet/Cap Badge. A good quality example in die-stamped white metal, Thistle pattern star with a circle, ‘Dundee Police’, (with crosses), in the centre the pot of flowers and motto, ‘Dei Donum’ from the City Arms, one lug missing (JCGp59), good condition £100-£140

East Lothian Constabulary. A fine quality and rare Victorian period helmet plate. In die-stamped white metal with an applied white metal central motif. An Order of the Thistle pattern star bearing St. Edward’s crown on the top point. The pearled circular centre ‘County Police’ with the applied badge of St. Andrew, (64mm x 50mm), two lug fasteners, (JCGp65), very good condition
