Thomas Perdew joined the Royal Navy as Boy 2nd Class on 29 October 1826, serving in H.M.S. Thetis. Advanced Captain of the After Guard in H.M.S. Vulture on 3 December 1852, he was shore pensioned on 14 May 1856, after 24 years and 5 months’ man service, and was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal.

Edward Nightingale was born in Sheerness, Kent, on 13 November 1837, and joined the Royal Navy on 1 March 1856. Advanced Ship’s Steward First Class on 15 January 1873, he was posted to the Naval Barracks on 1 April 1873, and was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 1 May of that year. He was shore pensioned on 12 November 1881.

Morris Leary joined the Royal Nay on 28 April 1845, and was promoted Able Seaman on 7 June 1848. He served in H.M.S. Neptune during the Baltic Campaign, and subsequently in H.M.S. Leopard during the Crimean War, being advanced Leading Seaman on 14 December 1854. He transferred to the Coast Guard on 30 January 1857, and was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in June 1875. Advanced Commissioned Boatman on 26 August 1875, he was shore pensioned on 31 August 1876, after more than 30 years’ service.

William Radmore was born in Plymouth in 1845 and joined the Royal Navy as a Caulker’s Mate on 11 June 1870. He was advanced Caulker on 28 August 1875, and served in H.M.S. Asia from 15 February 1879 to 18 October 1880, being awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 17 August 1880. He was shore pensioned on 29 April 1887.
