The Inglis Family Four Royal Naval Commissions 1813-1858. All contained in glazed matching oak frames. Two to Charles Inglis (1767-1833), the first appointing him to be Captain H.M.S. Rodney (74 guns) in 1813, the second appointing him to be Captain H.M.S. Victory in 1824. The third to Charles Inglis (1795-1877) son of the above, appointing him Commander of H.M.S. Delight, a sloop. The fourth to Lieutenant Charles D Inglis appointing him Commander of H.M.S. Marlborough 1858. A fifth frame contains a linen document dated 1815 appointing Charles Inglis RN to be a member of the Scottish ‘Pedestrians Club’. All with later Family notes on the reverses, foxing overall otherwise good condition (5)

Boer War Period Candlesticks. A pair in teak made from H.M.S. Terrible when scrapped. 19cm in height, 9.9cm circular base. Each with a brass plaque engraved, ‘From The Teak Of H.M.S. Terrible Whose Guns Relieved Ladysmith’, both stamped on the reverse of the base, ‘Lister Wood Craft’, one with a crack to the sconce section otherwise good condition (2)

Boyle RN, showing the Battle at 6.:21 p.m. on 31 May 1916; together with its framed corresponding explanatory sketch, black print on buff paper, showing the names and situations of the ships, the first with foxing otherwise good condition (2)

Battle of Jutland Interest. A framed and glazed display featuring a souvenir of H.M.S. Colossus, being the tear-off linen disc of the first shell fired from the starboard gun of 'Q' turret, the first gun of that turret to be fired at Jutland. The disc shows a red cross, officially stamped, '1/12 IN. B.L./76LB/12OZ.', also hand marked '1299'. Complete with printed linen 'Tear Off' tab. Also included a 'Grand Fleet' Christmas card with hand written note, 'Gunroom Card Christmas 1916'. Appended below are handwritten details concerning the linen disc, '1299' indicates the 'Lot' of cordite to which the charge belonged. The disc was presented to Midshipman M. W. B. Hervey RN by the turret Gunners Mate upon the ship's return to Scapa Flow, good condition
