Frogspark launches fundraising site

Digital agency Frogspark designed, built and launched a micro fundraising platform in 24 hours. Frogspark has launched Don8mini in a plea to help small, independent

businesses – even in just a small way. As the business community navigates through the current pandemic, it is still important to look after who we can. Its aim is to provide a simple way to donate the equivalent of a small,

everyday item to a local or independent business that would ordinarily get that revenue. The £2 spent on a latte, for example, could be put back into local business. Rob Twells, Managing Director at Frogspark, said: “I had the idea a couple of years back. I know that I buy coffees like they’re going out of

fashion, pints at the pub and food here and there without thinking. It’s the businesses that produce or sell these types of items that are going to feel the strain more than anybody right now. “If a few of us donated the price of one coffee to one of these

businesses, that would make an impact. If we can fundraise just a little, for a few businesses we love in the area, that would at least bring a smile to someone’s face.” Currently, Frogspark is picking one business to highlight on rotation

based on who they want to support or use regularly. Over time there are plans to introduce polls to pick the next business. Frogspark hands all funds raised directly over to the businesses.

Pledge signed on anniversary

CR Civil Engineering, a Loughborough-based company, has recently celebrated 20 years of trading. To mark the occasion, the company signed the Time-to- Change Employer Pledge. The pledge is a commitment to

alter the way mental health is perceived in the workplace. This commitment is supported by a 12- month Employer Action Plan.

The Employer Pledge and

Employer Action Plan enables CR Civil Engineering to put in place best practice interventions and policies to help staff work in ways that promote a positive mental wellbeing. Melanie Heath, Business Director

at CR Civil Engineering, said: “Over the past few years we have included many initiatives to tackle

mental health, introducing training courses and having a dedicated wellbeing team, to show our commitment to raising mental health awareness and working on banishing the stigma. “We wanted to invite more of

our workforce to celebrate our anniversary by signing the pledge and are thoroughly excited for the next 20 years of trading.”
