Mike Plant and Sheetal Sanghvi


RSM promotes two new partners


Audit, tax and consulting firm and Chamber strategic partner, RSM has announced two promotions to partner in the East Midlands. Leicester-based Sheetal Sanghvi


and Nottingham-based Mike Plant both become partners in the firm’s tax faculty recently. Sheetal joined RSM’s


predecessor firm as an audit trainee after graduating from De Montfort University Leicester with a degree in Business Studies. Since achieving her ACA


chartered accountant status in 2008, Sheetal has worked her way up the ranks, gaining a broad


experience across both the audit and corporate tax faculties. In 2017, she chose to fully specialise in Research and Development tax, becoming a director in 2018. Sheetal currently advises middle


market and large businesses and heads up the firm’s R&D business across the Midlands, East Anglia and the South West maximising the opportunities available from the regime. Last year the R&D scheme provided over £180m in tax relief to East Midlands-based businesses. Mike joined RSM from a Big Four


firm in August 2016, taking on the role of corporate tax director. Mike


focuses largely on advising mid- market companies, international businesses and private equity- backed firms, and enjoys serving clients across the East Midlands. Mike, who grew up in


Nottingham and studied at Nottingham High School before graduating in law from the University of Sheffield, is a regular speaker on international tax at RSM events and with other partners such as the Chamber. He is currently supporting many businesses to navigate through the post-Brexit transition period, ensuring that they optimise their

University of Leicester, before training as a qualified solicitor in May 2015. Claire chose to specialise in Wills and Probate and on qualification, became the manager of a newly opened branch. After gaining solid training, Claire moved onto new


pastures to head up and develop a Wills and Probate team at a regional firm, earning herself a substantial client base and excellent reputation for client care. Claire is experienced in both simple and complex
