FLEXIBLE WORKING

FOCUS FEATURE

Many businesses have turned to videoconferencing to stay connected during lockdown “It has forced a lot of businesses to reconsider the way

they work, in terms of the technologies that are available and how they can best be used to help facilitate home or remote working.” With remote working and dispersed workforces on the

rise due to the restrictions put in place because of coronavirus, staying connected with your people has become critical, not only from a commercial perspective, but from a wellbeing one too. It’s in situations like this that isolation takes on a more

literal meaning. For staff being used to operating in an office

environment, where there’s lots of hustle and bustle and interaction, working at home, alone can take some getting used to. Again, this is where technology can play a key role in

helping teams to stay connected. Chloe Sproston, Chamber patron Blueprint Interiors’

Creative and Commercial Director, said: “The use of technology has always played a huge part of our business, particularly as part of the workplace consultancy aspect of our four-stage design process. “We always look to incorporate technology in our

designs in order to deliver business efficiencies. In doing so, we help people work remotely, be more agile in their style of working, and assist teams to work more collaboratively together.

Chloe Sproston, of Chamber patron Blueprint Interiors “In the current climate more than ever, we are

embracing use of connected technologies to ensure we can continue working and supporting our clients and colleagues in the best way possible. “As well using technology to ensure we are in frequent

contact with clients, it is equally as important that we stay in touch with our Blueprint Interiors colleagues. “We’ve been holding a daily team coffee morning at

9.30am and encouraging everyone to dial in and have a chat (not about work) but about general life – just as we would if we were in the office grabbing a coffee in our work café.” Ryan Connolly, from Highlander UK, added:
