Supporting talent: Gymshark’s Ben Francis Business boost: Laura Sutton from The Cake Spa
Young professionals awarded memberships
Twenty-two young professionals across the region have been given the opportunity to take up a free 12-month membership of the Future Faces Chamber of Commerce thanks to two separate initiatives. Global sports apparel and conditioning brand
Gymshark purchased 10 memberships for the benefit of young people across Greater Birmingham, offering them an opportunity to network, develop and be recognised for their talent. Solihull-based Gymshark, which was founded
by local entrepreneur Ben Francis, is a patron of Future Faces. The winners of the memberships were chosen
by a panel of judges, including Beth Cooke (UpRising Leadership), Kate Elliott (Gymshark), Jaccy Gascoyne (Future Faces Ambassador 2018 winner), Sapreena Kumari (Aston University) and Tru Powell (The Alternative Events Company). The 10 winners were Beatrice Sayer (Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS), Callum White, Charlotte Walker (Variety), Ellen Grey Morgan, Faizan Qadiri, Imani Clough (Imani Academy), Isobel Wilson-Cleary (DHA Communications), Natasha Raj (Oaks Consultancy), Patrick Chan and Pav Mandair. Meanwhile, young professionals in Lichfield
and Tamworth have also been awarded free memberships after Lichfield District Council and Tamworth Borough Council sponsored 12 places for the second year running.
‘We are really looking forward to welcoming these individuals into our network’
Among those who have joined the scheme is Laura Sutton, from The Cake Spa in Lichfield, who said: “As a business owner in my first year of trade, I am really excited to part of the Future Faces membership. “The programme offers free events and great
networking opportunities, plus support for training and knowledge sharing. I can't wait to get involved - it can only benefit my new business.” Anna Assinder, Future Faces Chamber of
Commerce manager, said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming these individuals into our network. “I would also like to extend my thanks to
Gymshark, Lichfield District Council and Tamworth Borough Council for providing these opportunities to young people across the region.” Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber of
Commerce president James Blackman said: “We are really pleased to have been able to collaborate with the councils in this project, and hope to continue to work with them and more young professionals in Lichfield and Tamworth.”
